Mall of America = On Fire, American Girl Style

american apparel american girl columbia mall of america nikestore

The largest mall in the country just got a little better. This month marks the opening of four new, hotly sought-after retailers at Mall of America: American Girl, Columbia Sportswear, American Apparel and NikeStore.

I’m most excited about American Girl, naturally. If you’re not familiar with the American Girl sensation, here’s a little taste: Initially, the company started out manufacturing adorable dolls (and accessories) that aligned with interesting points in American History. Each doll was a courageous girl living in a tumultuous time who had her own remarkable story. In 4th grade I was obsessed with Addy, who escapes slavery and hopes to one day reunite her family, and Kirsten, a Swedish immigrant whose family immigrates to Minnesota. And even though I’m in my twenties, I’ll admit I still kind of covet Kit, the resourceful American Girl growing up during the Depression (and whose hat and pajamas are to-die-for).
